full of tons of filler. why? because I'm not even sure the writers know what they're gonna do yet. the plot after about 15 eps is still so loosely connected I'm sure if someone tried to draw them together the threads would snap.

liek aliens running domino city? I doubt that. at least I think they're aliens. I'm sure the writers will make up something eventually to explain their funky clothes and bionic parts that no one takes any notice of.

other than the plot the characters themselves have become dry, I don't feel I have as much of a connection to them as I had in season one.
aki: have the writers forgotten her parents completely? after she managed to sort out things between them you'd think they'd talk more. So the idea of telling her father about getting a motorbike hasn't even crossed her mind, as she hasn't had one line about what her parents are gonna think, nor worry about how she's going to tell them. and it's obvious they don't know, because I think prime minister parents would be able to afford the most safest bike in the world and make her use it, than rely on her mechanic protagonist and friends to make a decent bike out of scrap.

Ruka and Rua: suddenly the kids that could do nothing but stay at home and play games with each other have now decided that that was boring and joined duel academy! why didn't they do it before? I really...don't know. why can't their parents afford a tutor to get their grades up? probably because the writers have forgotten the millionaire parents exist too.

Jack: still a jerk, but at least in the first season I had respect for him. 'I don't care you broke into our home and stole something worth thousands, you ate my $2 RAMEN!!!' like....wth?

Yusei: still a stiff. Oh but his friends that he risked his life for have disappeared off the face of the earth. We never got to even see Yusei meet up with them or have any sort of celebration for defeating the dark signers. shame. also I think the day they give him more than a twitch of a smile he might show he has emotions. lol at skate rink animation budget.

I could go into more stuff the writers have forgotten or ignored, but that would make this journal longer. basically I'll keep watching it in the hopes it'll pick up but the first season was at least x2, or x3 as good.
